Mustang Sanctuary Cove surprise

Mustang Sanctuary Cove surprise

The Mustang name has been well and truly reborn, with two new models taking pride of place at the recent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, held on the Gold Coast from May 19 to 22.

Boating icon, Bill Barry-Cotter bought the Mustang name back in May last year and wasted little time in resurrecting the brand. Elsewhere in this edition we have a test on the new 32 Sports Cruiser, which drew plenty of attention at its Sanctuary Cove debut.

But stealing the show was a new flagship 50-footer, which Barry-Cotter and his cohorts had kept well and truly under wraps prior to the show.

The Mustang 50 is a three-cabin craft, with a fully-enclosed saloon, large aft deck for entertaining and, below decks, a massive full-beam master stateroom amidships. It shares its hull with the Maritimo C47, both craft being produced at the same Coomera, Gold Coast factory.

A full report on the 2011 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show appears in the June/July edition of Club Marine Magazine.
