Brothers Peter and Phillip Jenkins are well into their 9500km coastal journey, travelling over the top of Australia to raise funds for, and awareness of prostate cancer.
Following their blog, it seems they’re having quite a bit of fun along the way – changing their course to go up the Hitchinbrook Channel, stopping for a chat with the crew aboard the yacht ‘South Passage’ before arriving in Cairns on Sunday to dine at the Yorkies Knob Yacht Club.
Along the way, the Jenkins brothers have been busy dropping in on various coastal and island locations, no doubt gathering a crowd every time they do. They departed from Cairns on Monday, August 15, heading to Port Douglas in the morning, then through to Cooktown, Lockhart River and – if all goes to plan -- they will reach Thursday Island by the end of the week.
It has just been announced that a raffle is running in conjunction with the Honda Over The Top expedition to raise funds for prostate cancer research.
There are more than $49,000 worth of prizes to be won, including a 13-night luxury wilderness cruise along the Kimberley Coast valued at over $34,000. The money raised will go to Cancer Council Australia. Raffle tickets are $5 each and are on sale throughout the expedition at selected Honda dealerships in New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia, as well as from Cancer Council offices.
