With the spectacular Six of the Best! competition now well and truly underway, Club Marine is delighted to announce winner number two, who will, later this year, enjoy a Queensland cruise on a luxurious Riviera 5800 Sport Yacht.
Michael Sykes is the winner of the Ultimate Cruising destination and will soon be jetting off to enjoy a four-day luxury cruise on board Riviera Syndication’s gorgeous Bellini Sport Yacht with his wife, Liz.
Living in Edgeworth near Newcastle, NSW, Michael and Liz were so busy during the holiday season that they hadn’t had time to catch up on the latest news in their copy of the magazine and were blissfully unaware when the magazine team called to give them the good news.
“When Club Marine rang us, we were so astonished and for the rest of the day we kept grabbing each other and jumping up and down and crying ‘We won! We won!’,” said Michael. “We kept thinking it was too good to be true, it came as such a surprise and really helped to kick off our New Year!”
Cruising onboard a 60ft luxury Riviera motor yacht will definitely be a change from their 4.5m aluminium runabout that the Sykes’s like to use in the lakes, harbour and bays around Newcastle. They love being able to get away on their boat and reach areas that would be inaccessible on larger craft.
“It’s great to pull up on a sandy beach and enjoy a swim in pristine conditions,” said Michael. “Fishing is a favourite pastime and we are happy, regardless of whether we catch anything that is keepable or not.
“We actually spent our honeymoon on the Hawkesbury River on an 8m Halvorsen cruiser and now, almost 32 years to the day, we get this exciting news. This time the boat is going to be so much bigger, fancier and way more powerful.
“We are looking forward to going on this adventure and we are so grateful to Club Marine and Riviera Syndication for making this dream trip possible.”
Meanwhile, the magazine team invites readers to check the February/March issue and discover the Six of the Best! Ultimate Wilderness cruise aboard True North, exploring the wildlife and stunning geography of the Kimberley. The winner of this spectacular prize will be announced in the April/May edition.
