The Tauranga Boat Expo and On Water Festival returned to downtown Tauranga in New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty for a weekend of ‘watercraft wonder’ on November 8-10.
This year’s event featured local community organisations, with local Coast Guard volunteers in force on and off the water showcasing the manoeuvrability of their vessels and responding to an actual rescue between demonstrations. The Boobops ladies dragonboat team demonstrated why they are national champions, while the Wish For Fish charity received a great response from visitors.
With plenty for the whole family to see and do, visitors were spoiled for choice with a variety of vessels, PWCs and equipment on display plus a wealth of information from local organisations.
Highlights of the event included an on-water show with trick-PWC and waterski demonstrations and an amusing kayak tug-of-war.
