New Zealand is preparing for this year’s Century Batteries Beach and Boat Fishing Competition, proudly supported by Club Marine, to be held on February 21 and 22 at Marsden Cove, Ruakaka.
The competition generally attracts around 2500 keen anglers of varying skills, with entrants coming from all over New Zealand and Australia to be in the running for one of two Surtees/Honda boat packages, a Kawasaki Jetski and fishing kit, or three Ford Ranger XLTs.
Billed as the largest snapper fishing contest in the world and the largest fishing competition in Australasia, the Beach and Boat includes the Furuno Snapper World Cup and will again see anglers chase a tagged snapper worth a $100,000 prize in the Tagged Snapper Challenge.
