Offshore Superboat Championships
The 2014 Offshore Superboat Championships (OSC) is set to return to six venues along Australia’s east coast this year, kicking off in Newcastle, NSW, on April 26 and 27.

Round one of the OSC has traditionally been host to ‘Fuelarama’, and will again feature muscle cars and street displays as Fuelarama celebrates its fourth anniversary with the Superboats in Newcastle, with an expected crowd of over 40,000.

The series then heads north to: Bowen, Qld, June 21 & 22; Townsville, Qld, June 28 & 29; Coffs Harbour, NSW, August 30 & 31; Redcliffe, Qld, September 13 & 14 and Hervey Bay, Qld, November 29 & 30.

Making a return to the Offshore Superboat Championships is Maritimo Offshore supremo, Bill Barry-Cotter, who will campaign two boats in the rejuvenated Class 1 category, which has been amended to Supercat Extreme to bring it in line with the other Supercat categories. Team Navy will step up from Supercat 1000 to also compete in Supercat Extreme.

The series will be broadcast on SBS’s Speedweek with commentary by Dave Bishop.
