This year’s Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show, to be held at the ASB Showgrounds in Greenlane, Auckland on May 15 to 18, will feature a wide range of activities with plenty to see and do for powerboaties, yachties, launch owners, waterskiers, divers and anglers.
Visitors to this year’s event will again have the chance to take home a $100,000 Stabicraft/Yamaha Grand Prize Package, complete with Furuno electronics, Fusion stereo system, Hutchwilco safety pack, and Club Marine Insurance for a year. Visitors who buy their show tickets online will go into the running for a Viking Kayaks Profish 440 Evolution IV valued at $3000.
New Zealand’s largest and most popular boat show will feature a range of new powerboats from New Zealand’s leading boat manufacturers, many on show for the first time. Rayglass, Haines Hunter, Smuggler and Buccaneer craft will be on display, as will new aluminium models from various Kiwi boatbuilders such as Stabicraft, Extreme, Surtees, McLay, Profile, Senator and Marco. A wide selection of new offshore models from Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, Chris Craft and Caribbean will also feature.
The Club Marine Discover Boating Centre will also be a highlight for many. A Cooks Islands-themed café, five large AV screens highlighting New Zealand’s best boating locations and a wide range of displays will encourage newcomers to take up boating, enjoy the wonderful lifestyle afloat and ‘live the dream’.
Anglers are in for a treat, with all the latest fishing gear on sale in the Hauraki Fishing Hall, and Top Catch’s free hourly ‘Ask The Experts’ seminar series. Big fish specialists, Milan Radonich and Nathan O’Hearn from TV show PlaceMakers Big Angry Fish
, will share their experiences and answer visitors’ questions at their popular rigging bench.
Sailing enthusiasts will flock to Sailing Central, where over 20 types of sailing dinghies will be on display, while the Youthtown Aqua Fun Zone is bound to be a hit with the kids, with heated pools, a wide range of demonstrations, and ‘have a go’ activities.
