Kiwis stand up for world record attempt

Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour will host a world record attempt for the most people on a stand up paddle board (SUP), to be played out in front of visitors to the Auckland On Water Boat Show.

This year’s show will run from September 25 to 28 in Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour and is billed as New Zealand’s only on-water boat show. The attempt will see the team of paddlers make their way up the Viaduct in front of show visitors on a 20m-long, 1.4m-wide SUP that will hold an estimated 52 participants.

The world record bid promises to provide great entertainment for showgoers while raising much-needed funds for the Child Cancer Foundation.

The show’s organisers say the Auckland On Water Boat Show caters for all on-water passions and is a forum where hundreds of experts share their knowledge with showgoers. Exhibitors will include a selection of over 100 boats in the Viaduct for visitors to explore, as they buy, dream, or compare their options before making their next purchase.
