Hutchwilco Boat Show celebrates 60th

Billed as New Zealand’s longest-running and most popular boat show, the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show is about to celebrate its 60th year, having first opened its gates at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds in 1956.

A host of exciting attractions and a huge prize pool – including two Stabicraft/Yamaha boat packages valued at NZ$60,000 each (pictured), with one-year Club Marine Insurance, and daily prizes of Viking kayaks and Heletranz heli-fishing trips – awaits showgoers when they flock to the show on May 14 to 17.

Visitors can also expect celebrity appearances from the likes of the ITM Fishing Show’s Matt Watson and a host of marine and boating experts on hand at various locations throughout the show. They can also inspect New Zealand’s latest boat releases, including those from the country’s leading fibreglass and aluminium boat manufacturers, and a wide range of engines, electronics, accessories, fishing, and dive equipment.

The Club Marine Discover Boating Centre will be a hub of activity, with a Cook Islands-themed café, large AV screens highlighting New Zealand’s best boating locations, and a number of displays to encourage newcomers to take up the boating and fishing lifestyle.

Two heated pools (kids, bring your togs) and lots of fun activities and demonstrations promise to make the show a fun day for the whole family. Earlybird tickets purchased online will also go into the draw for a fishing kayak package.
