Club Marine RIB Rally
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Club Marine RIB Rally returns on October 22 (rain day October 29) with a convoy from Perth’s Swan River to Rottnest Island.
Organised by Perth business RIB Rescue and proudly supported by Club Marine, the event equips RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) owners and enthusiasts with valuable advice on boat-handling skills and safety measures and includes a 25nm round-trip from Swan River to Rottnest Island, a circumnavigation of Rotto, and a stop for lunch at Thomson Bay.
RIB Rescue’s Jeff Bullock is hoping to top last year’s turnout, which attracted some 60 participants aboard 27 RIBs, despite the questionable weather.
“We’re witnessing an increase in popularity of RIBs in Australia and with that will come a larger choice of boats on offer, along with services to repair and maintain them,” said Bullock.
“The Club Marine RIB Rally is about developing the boat category in general and getting like-minded people together.”
Proceeds from the rally will be donated to Sea Rescue Fremantle.
