Southwind SC640
The Southwind 640 was never meant to be a production
boat. Based on the very successful SF640 the 6.68m boat was built
by Southwind staffers as a factory team fishing boat.
The team put a lot of their own ideas into the boat,
which as it turns out, are shared by a lot of other anglers, who
have shown a lot of interest in it. This is essentially a maxi-console
approach with the console large enough to house a sleeping area,
or shelter for three or four people.
It also takes a Porta Potti. Cabin access is through
a large lockable door or from the foredeck through a seat forward
of the console with a cushion and base that doubles as a hatch.
A deeply padded bolster on the forward and side coamings provides
support all the way around the boat and the helm area is designed
for flush-mounting of sounder/GPS, radio and gauges. The twin-transom
layout of the stern is identical to the original SF640 and the performance
with a single F200A four-stroke is similar to the twin F115A-powered
SF640. The SC640 will be on the production line in late September.
