For those who like the view better from the top, Sea Ray offers the 455 Sedan Bridge.
The bridge helm of the 455 has all the latest technology including Sea Ray diagnostics, Raymarine electronics and LCD systems monitor, responsive hydraulic steering, weatherproof switches with power from the standard twin 8.1 S Horizon MerCruiser inboards.

Guests are entertained at a U-shaped aft seat and bridge table that can be converted to a sunpad by inserting the standard filler cushions. Two custom Euro-style seats at the helm provide the driver and companion with flip-up, thigh-rise bolsters, heavy-duty pedestals and pneumatic vertical adjustments.

The moulded bridge staircase – which is sealed off by a security hatch with hydraulic assist – leads to the lower cockpit where further seating space and an aft bench is provided. An icemaker, side panel storage and a door to the swim platform allow this area to be used for a variety of activities.

The salon is finished in cherry blossom or natural maple, Ultraleather HP seating and faux granite countertops. An electronic sofa sleeper and loveseat offer room to sprawl out and relax. Entertainment is provided by a standard 13-inch TV/VCR/radio combination and Clarion single CD stereo system with six-disc changer, digital bridge remote and speaker selector switches. To port, a guest stateroom features twin beds with inner spring mattresses that convert easily to a king-size bed by inserting the standard filler cushions. Next door is the guest head with shower, vanity and sink.

Other standard features include a remote start generator, 28,000 BTU air conditioning/heating system, rope/chain windlass and underwater exhaust for quieter cruising.

Azimut 86S

Azimut has launched the second model in the Open Line. At 26 metres the 86S features many of the architectural and designer innovations already present on the 68S including the distinctive burgundy hull and six centralized square windows, which have become a signature for the Open line.

The hard top integrated into the superstructure of the boat may be opened electronically by sliding towards the aft and concealing itself in the roof of the cockpit. The large door, which gives access to the salon, when open creates an overall space of 55sqm and out back there is space for a 4.4m tender or 3.6m tender and jet ski.

Two stairways, one of which conceals the hydraulic gangplank, give access to the main deck and the large central stern sunbathing area. The padded section on the top deck has three seats with backrests situated around one side of the oval luncheon table that seats eight. All the external padded areas are in a light coloured washable and water resistant fabric.

Inside the crystal sliding doors of the salon, the flooring is wenge and is carpeted and bordered to achieve a rug effect. The interior design by Carlo Galeazzi, has aerial lines with light coloured natural fabrics endowed with burgundy embroidery. The furniture is in dark wenge with aluminium finishings and includes a free-standing wenge and crystal unit with central plasma video screen, two different conversation zones furnished with four two-seater sofas and coffee table.

The central wheelhouse has a modern dash with wheel and seating in amaranth coloured leather. The central seat is adjustable.

Situated on the lower deck towards the stern is the crew quarters with galley and crew mess, two single cabins and bathroom with shower. Towards midship is the owners suite, a lobby accessing three guest rooms each with own private bathroom furnished in wenge and maple woods.

The owner’s suite features a queen-size bed with six large windows. To the left of the bed is a vanity area with two cabinets and to the right is a small study with armchairs and desk. The bathroom has a large crystal shelf, two forged crystal washbasins and a shower, which can convert to a hydro-massage tub.

Some of the technical innovations introduced on this second model of the Azimut Open line are; joystick steering, stern sensors for mooring in the marina, auxiliary bow and stern propellers for manoeuvrability in port. This series is available with diverse transmissions.

Streaker 5.85 Tournament

Streaker Boats has expanded its blue water fishing rig range to include the 5.85 Tournament model.

The boat is designed, constructed and rigged for anglers serious about offshore fishing and includes a deep vee fibreglass hull with a 20-degree deadrise. The hull design also incorporates ample flare in the bow section and a ‘quartered’ transom design. The flared bow serves to keep the bow buoyant and spray low when running into a following sea, while the quartered transom stops slop when backing into waves.

Standard features include a plumbed live bait tank, stainless steel rocket launcher that folds for towing and storage, an onboard flood lighting system for night fishing, side-bin mounted rod holders, bait boards and a deck wash system.

Onboard equipment includes a new integrated style dash with a Lowrance sounder/GPS unit factory fitted, dual batteries with an isolation switch, sub-floor fuel tank with deck filler, fish bin, Esky and bimini cover.

“We wanted our Streaker 5.85 Tournament customer to essentially drive to the boat ramp and go fishing,” Leon Savage said. “All the angler needs to do is add the fishing tackle, bait and fuel and the boat is ready. We felt that if the customer needed to spend more money to rig the boat for fishing, then we hadn’t done our job properly.”

The Streaker 5.85 Tournament is rated to carry Yamaha outboard engines up to 200hp, in both two and four-stroke configurations. The Yamaha 175hp High Pressure Direct Injected model has proven to be a particularly good match for this rig.

The Streaker 5.85 series hull is also available in Longreach configuration for fishermen who prefer to fish in more enclosed, or near to shore, locations.
