Walker Bay Inflatables

Distributed exclusively in Australia by The Haines Group, Genesis and Odyssey inflatable boats are manufactured using high impact marine composite resin, injected into state-of-the-art steel moulds with over 8,000 tonnes of clamp force.

The end product, says Walker Bay, is a one-piece lightweight hull that is durable and easy to manage. The Genesis and Odyssey range also incorporates UV-resistant resins to create low-maintenance, sturdy vessels.

Ideal for tender use or as affordable runabouts, Genesis and Odyssey inflatable boats range from 2.7m to 3.4m and are equipped with Suzuki outboards.

Azimut 68S

Atlantic Motor Yachts, the Australian distributor of Azimut motor yachts, calls the interior of the Azimut 68S “pure style and luxury”. First released in 2003, the 68S remains one of the most stunning boats on the market today, says Azimut, and will be on display at Atlantic Motor Yachts’ stand at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show in May.

The 68S has an aggressive profile, with a family feeling, and is designed for those who love comfort, but also love to race the waves. Features include: six square portholes at the centre of the boat along the hull, electric hard top with rotating panels, manoeuvring joystick to maximise easy mooring operations and, of course, the distinctive burgundy-colour hull.

Sunrunner Hard Top

Sunrunner has released a new hard top design across its smaller range of cruisers up to its award-winning 3700 series. Depending on the vessel, the new hard top package is known as a ‘Sport Fisher’ or an ‘Express Cruiser’.

In support of the new hard top package, Sunrunner has completely re-designed the aft cockpit in the 3100 vessel and has created a hybrid Sport Fisher. Features including: hard top, live bait and catch tanks, rocket launchers, additional rod holders and a more open cockpit as ‘standing room’ for the fishing enthusiast. Sunrunner says that, after the fishing is over, the Sport Fisher easily converts into a day cruiser, for entertaining.

600R Breeze

Haines Hunter says that by making the cockpit space of the 600R larger than its predecessor, it has not only enhanced the boat’s fishability, it has made it into the ideal choice for a day out on the water with family and friends.

The list of standard features included in the 600R Breeze, such as the ability to hose out its cabin, shows that Haines Hunter was keenly aware of the needs of the Aussie angler when it designed the boat. Additional features include: 32mm stainless steel windscreen rail; a self-draining anchor well; rear folding lounge with storage locker; side rod holders; a large live bait tank and an ergonomically-designed dashboard.

Optional extras include a canopy, storm cover, under-bunk toilet, clip-in cockpit carpet, marine CD player with waterproof speakers and various lighting options.

Monterey 375 Sports Yacht

For the 2008 model year, Monterey Boats has made some significant changes to its 375 Sport Yacht. The 375SY is now being offered with an optional fibreglass hard top, complete with full enclosure.

The 375SY’s cabin comfortably sleeps six adults and comes standard with lay-down carpet, wood mini-blinds, companionway lighted stair treads, cedar-lined hanging lockers in both the forward stateroom and mid-cabin, a CD changer in the salon/dinette and a 26-inch flat screen LCD TV with DVD/MP3 player.

Additional options include underwater lights and a premium Kenwood stereo package upgrade with additional speakers, subwoofer and two amps.

BRIG Eagle 645

Designed in Italy and built in the Ukraine, and weighing only 450kg, the BRIG 645 can reach speeds over 50 knots with a 175hp outboard say its makers.

The hull and accommodation modules, all in fibreglass, are white, as are the hypalon inflatable tubes. Standard cockpit features include a brushed stainless steel steering wheel with a hand-stitched vinyl rim.

The seat across the stern holds at least three; the helm seat holds two and it folds up if the driver wants to stand. In the back of the helm seat is a fold-down table for on-board picnics. The area ahead of the steering module doubles as a sun bed.

Sirocco Marine is the sole importer of the BRIG range of inflatables in Australia.

Quintrex 470 Coast Runner

Quintrex’s popular runabout, the 470 Coast Runner CV, has new features, including the M3 Transom and walk-through dash. Measuring 2.1 metres and built on 3mm bottom sides and 1.6mm top sides, the 470 Coast Runner is rated to a maximum 60 horsepower and can carry up to five passengers.

The M3 transom increases the internal space of the 470 Coast Runner, aiding buoyancy aft and overall stability. Quintrex says that the walk-through dash makes retrieving and setting the anchor a breeze.

The 470 Coast Runner package features an accessory kit, alloy cleats on the front deck and transom corners, auto bilge pump, moulded anchor well, bow sprit and bow roller, drink holders, 70-litre fuel tank, painted hull with strips, rear folding lounge and backrest, two skipper seats, ski pole mount insert, transducer bracket and non-return mechanical steering.

Aquabay 70

Aquabay Yachts brought together a group of designers, naval architects and boat builders to build and launch the new Aquabay 70 into the Australian and New Zealand markets. The result, says Aquabay, is a boat similar to an Italian motor yacht in everything but the price.

The Aquabay 70 has walk-around decks for easy accessibility for both guests and crew. The saloon is large and complete with a retractable awning over the cockpit. A full bar can be accessed from the saloon and cockpit and the open galley is located just off the saloon to maximise the entertaining space at deck level.

The dining table has four different configurations – it can be a dining table for eight, a lounge and coffee table, a full-size sun bed or a lounge and sun bed. The Aquabay 70’s accommodation can be configured to either four or three cabins plus crew cabins. The owner’s cabin includes a private office area as standard.

Skippi 650 Cruiser

The Skippi 650 Cruiser caters to those looking for a yacht that combines the convenience of trailerability with ease of use and responsiveness under sail.

The interior of the Skippi 650 is open plan, with an adult-sized V-berth in the bow and two adult-sized quarter berths. Sailaway Trailer Yachts, the Australian importer of the Skippi 650, claims that although it isn’t intended to be a racing boat, the Skippi 650 is a rewarding boat to sail and is very stable.

The standard Sailaway package includes an Australian-made galvanised single-axle trailer with over-ride disc brakes. The Skippi 650 comes with lifelines supplied and fitted; both interior and navigation lights; dacron mainsail complete with lazy jacks; dacron working jib complete with jib furler and a gennaker.

Hampton 680 Pilothouse

Leigh-Smith Cruiser Sales has recently expanded its range of boats to include the Hampton 680 Pilothouse, which will debut at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May.

Built for comfortable, safe cruising, the Hampton 680 has a planing hull that incorporates a modified deep-V design with high forward deadrise section for a smooth entry in head seas. To maximise the strength-to-weight ratio, the hull is made of solid fibreglass, reinforced with two layers of Kevlar from chine to chine.

The 18-foot beam means that all of the living spaces are large. Interior luxury features include the master stateroom, with king size bed, storage space and cedar-lined hanging lockers. There is a forward VIP stateroom, mid guest stateroom and crew quarters aft. The flybridge offers a large seating area, with adjustable table, helm bench, wet bar, refrigerator and BBQ space.
