Wireless AutoAnchor AA710

The AA710 is a chain counter for those who have no way to run wires through their boat. The AA710 has all the features of the original AutoAnchors, including safety lock, alarm and automatic release and retrieval of the anchor, without having to run wires all the way from the windlass to the helm station.

The AA710 has a plug and play sensor that is fitted directly into the base station, close to the windlass. The hand-held remote can be operated from almost anywhere on the boat.

AutoAnchor claims that the AA710 is shock proof and water resistant. The console has rubber overmoulding for grip and non-slip protection, and the unit comes with a cradle and protective cover.

Evinrude E-TEC 300

BRP’s newest addition to the 2008 Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine line will soon be available at Evinrude dealerships worldwide. The E-TEC 300 wraps a big block two-stroke direct-injection powerplant in a compact, lightweight design.

BRP claims that the high-power to low-weight ratio of the E-TEC 300 provides greater fuel efficiency, less draft for improved boat handling, faster boat planing and less stress on the structural integrity of the boat transom. The company also points to performance tests that have shown that the new 300hp engine can deliver as much as 35 to 40 per cent improvement in fuel economy when compared to traditional electronic fuel injection modes.

The new Evinrude E-TEC 300hp engine is available in white 25- and 30-inch shaft models as well as counter-rotating models and carries BRP’s factory-backed, three-year ‘non-declining warranty’.

Car Cube

Car Cube is a portable high-pressure washer that is designed to help Australians comply with water restrictions and still keep their car, boat or vehicle clean. According to its designers, the Car Cube’s low-flow pump makes it 400 per cent more water efficient than other washers.

The makers of Car Cube claim that, on average, each time Car Cube’s 13-litre tank is filled, it can provide 10 minutes of continuous cleaning at up to 130psi. By comparison: tank water connected to a hose consumes over 180 litres of water and bucket washing uses 40 to 100 litres.

The Car Cube is portable and is powered by a 12V power cord that plugs into the car’s accessory port or 12V battery pack.

Lewmar Classic Winch

Although Lewmar’s new Classic Winch certainly gives the impression of traditional bronze styling, it’s actually machined from stainless steel and features the very latest three- or four-speed options.

Coated with titanium nitride, Lewmar’s new Classic Winch has a realistic bronze colour that Lewmar says will last for years, while being much easier to look after and maintain than traditional bronze.

“A real bonus for the owner and crew is the ease with which the winches can be maintained,” explains Phil Atfield, Lewmar’s Sailboat Market Manager. “These winches will not rust or tarnish, they just need a simple rinse-down with fresh water and a gentle polish to keep them looking their best for years to come.”
