Bayliner 245 Sunbridge

According to its Australian distributor, Berowra Waters Wholesale, the popular 245 Sunbridge Bayliner has been redesigned from the waterline up. The new external design includes a larger swim platform that leads to the single-level cockpit, which allows for configurable seating to suit sunbathing and dining.

At the helm, a new dash design puts the focus on electronics and navigation by allowing room for a large-screen display. The instrumentation layout is straightforward, with side-mounted controls and well-placed switches.

The interior has had a makeover of its own, with new fabrics and more storage space – under the aft double berth, in a large hanging locker, in the galley and under the forward berth seating. The 245 comes standard with a satellite-ready stereo system that’s compatible with all digital formats, including iPod and MP3. Owners can add an optional Sirius satellite radio system as well as a 15in flat-screen LCD TV/DVD package.

The large, full-service galley offers a single-burner electric stove, refrigerator and microwave and Bayliner’s designers added a flip-up counter extension, so meal preparations are no longer a juggling act. The cabin also features a stand-up head and shower, with 6ft 2in of headroom.

The 245 is powered by a 5.0lt/260hp MerCruiser Bravo III engine or owners can power up to the optional 300hp 350 MAG MPI Bravo III.

Malibu Wakesetter VLX

Malibu Wakesetter VLX

Malibu Australia says its designers went back to the digital drawing board for the 2009 season and have come back with the Wakesetter VLX. Available in both Wake and Diamond designs, the 2009 VLX features an entirely new hull and deck design, new interior and new dash layout.

The chine lines of the 2009 VLX have been straightened to enable tight controlled turns under power. The strakes are sharp at the front of the boat and flat in the back to create a combination of water displacement at wakeboarding speeds and smooth ride lift when cruising. The hull transitions have been reshaped to change the flow of water beneath the boat and sculpt a better wake that can be further customised with Malibu wake enhancement tools.

The interior of the VLX has colour accents and amenities galore. This extends to the driver’s area as well, from the oversized, bolstered driver’s seat to the newly-designed, two-toned, hand-wrapped dash and throttle console. The all-new optional MaliView 6.5in colour dash display offers easy viewing, systems management and video entertainment.

Every 2009 Malibu can be optioned with the 350 Monsoon or Hammerhead engine, built to saltwater specifications that include E-Coated components, spectra mate fasteners and a high-mounted starter motor. Fully enclosed cooling, including exhaust manifolds, is optional on the Monsoon 350 and standard on the Hammerhead.

Northbank 650C Cuddy Cabin

Northbank 650C Cuddy Cabin

The versatility, performance and fit-out of the new 650C Cuddy Cabin make it perfect for the professional angler through to the family that wants to spend a day on the water, says Australian boat manufacturer Northbank.

Designers of the 650C say the cruiser demonstrates flat, high-speed manoeuvrability and hull strength because the glass in the bottom of the hull is some 30mm thick. Combined with the performance of the 250hp supercharged engine, the 650C is capable of a top speed above 80km/h.

The Northbank 650C has a large working deck, plenty of headroom and space for fishing. Bunk cushions and backrests, seat boxes, upholstered swivel seats and a driver’s side seat slide are all standard equipment.

The Northbank 650C’s cockpit layout includes easy-to-read instrumentation, stainless steel steering wheel, comfortable bucket seats, driver side footrest rails, a huge glovebox, windscreen grab rails, and side pockets alongside the driver and passenger seats. Hydraulic steering is also included as standard equipment. A bimini with clears and a stainless steel rocket launcher are options.

The 650C Cuddy Cabin can be fitted with a petrol or diesel 3.0lt MerCruiser engine. Tucked neatly into the transom, the inboard takes up very little useable floor space and there is a transom door that provides access to the motor, boarding platform and ladder.
