And the Boatloads of Fun winners are...
“Absolutely unbelievable! I can’t thank Club Marine enough – it’s a real life-changing win for us!”
The year started with a bang (after a few moments of stunned silence and disbelief) when we called Club Marine member and Club Marine Magazine subscriber, Craig Butler (Vic) with the news he’d won the grand prize in our whopper Boatloads of Fun competition.
The joy couldn’t be greater in the Butler household, especially during the official handover of the prize package earlier this week, including the fully equipped, Mercury-powered Northbank 600C boat on a Mackay trailer, and an Isuzu D-MAX LS-T utility, valued jointly at more than $155,000.
It was a great way to celebrate the start of a new year and wrap up what has been a big 12 months for Club Marine and Club Marine Magazine. Throughout 2017, we’ve given away three glamorous cruises with Australia’s adventure cruise specialists, True North Adventure Cruises.
Rigid inflatable boat specialist BRIG spiced things up with two of its Falcon F360H tenders, which have no doubt added a new dimension to two Club Marine members’ boating lifestyles.
And from fishing tackle specialists Shimano, we’ve handed over a massive $30,000 worth of high-quality gear to warm the heart of any discerning fisho.
A happy handover… It was smiles all around as our lucky Boatloads of Fun grand prize winners celebrated with our prize partners at Melbourne Marine Centre.
Craig became a Boatloads of Fun contender when he recently purchased a new Sea-Doo jetski from Melbourne Sea-Doo, insuring it with Club Marine, along with a subscription to Club Marine Magazine – and he was understandably ecstatic when he got the call.
Initial disbelief soon turned to mild jubilation, which was quickly followed by extreme jubilation as Craig, surrounded by mates on a camping holiday, began to share the good news.
“I can’t believe it! Thanks so much to Club Marine. It couldn’t have come at a better time. A real life-changer!” he said
He also informed us that he was on the verge of buying a ski boat later that same day. While we suggested it might not be necessary given the colossal Northbank/Isuzu package he’d just won, Craig said he’d already committed to buying it and didn’t want to let the seller down.
“I’d just bought a second-hand ski boat and I was just about to phone Club Marine to insure it when I got the call informing me of the win,” he laughed.
"My biggest problem now is finding room to park both boats!”
All major prize partners were represented at the official handover at Northbank dealership, Melbourne Marine Centre in the Melbourne suburb of Hallam.

“Congratulations to Craig and his family,” said Club Marine CEO Simon McLean. “It’s great to be able to present our grand prize to such a great boating family. And I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our great Boatloads of Fun grand prize partners, including Northbank, Isuzu, Mackay Trailers and Mercury Marine
It certainly has been a big year for Club Marine and our valued members – and with 2018 now upon us, the challenge is how do we top Boatloads of Fun? With a total prize pool of more than $250,000, it’s going to be a tall order.
All we can say is – stay tuned for another big year …
