WE’RE PHASING OUT CHEQUES AND MOVING TO DIGITAL PAYMENTS

Effective from 25 October 2024, we will be ceasing cheque payments in favour of a more efficient and secure digital payment solution to provide greater convenience for our members.

Cheque payments will be replaced by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to make secure digital payments directly to your nominated bank account.

We are dedicated to helping members who currently receive cheques to make a smooth transition to this new digital payment method. If we need to pay you, we’ll let you know the next steps.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

From 25 October 2024, we will cease issuing cheques. This will impact payments such as policy refunds, member claims, and supplier payments.
The Australian Government’s decision to phase out cheques by 2030 confirms that moving away from cheques is the right approach.
We’ll let you know the next steps. When making payments, such as a policy refund, we’ll use Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
Effective from 25 October 2024, we will cease issuing cheques and so will be unable to produce cheques from this date.
Yes, you can still bank an old cheque. Alternatively, if you’ve mislaid it, let us know and we can arrange payment via EFT for you.
If you pay us by cheque, there’s no change. We’ll continue to accept cheque payments for the foreseeable future.
