    Provides cover for accidental loss or damage to fishing gear (excludes tackles, lures and braids), water ski and dive equipment, tools and accessories up to $3,000 (incl GST) per item, and up to $30,000 (incl GST) total (not in addition to Section 1 limit).
  • Club Marine Assist
    Provides 24/7 roadside assistance for your vehicle and trailer when you’re towing your boat, or driving to and from your mooring or boat storage. Plus, you can call us 24/7 to ask for directions, tide times, weather reports, marine and service centre locations and more.
  • Flexible lay up periods
    Provides flexibility to add lay up cover to your policy for times your trailerable boat is not in use. Your boat will still be covered for accidental loss or damage, theft or malicious damage during any lay up period, when stored within gates, walls or fences of your home.
  • Accidental loss or damage, theft or malicious damage
    Provides cover for your boat, motor(s), trailer, equipment, gear and accessories against theft or malicious damage, and accidental damage or loss. Plus, if your boat is involved in a collision and you’re not at fault, the excess may be waived.
  • Legal liability cover
    Provides legal liability cover for injury and property damage arising from the use of your boat by you or a person operating it with your permission. Plus, you can choose the limit amount based on your needs.
  • Club Care Benefits
    Provides up to $10,000 (incl GST) assistance following an emergency or unforeseen incident which gives rise to a claim, including:
    • emergency fuel delivery
    • returning your boat to your home or storage location following repairs
    • reasonable costs of temporary accommodation and transportation home
  • Trailer cover
    Provides cover for your trailer for accidental loss or damage, theft or malicious damage.
  • Personal effects
    Provides cover for accidental loss or damage to clothing, shoes, waterproof gear, wetsuits, prescription glasses, manchester, coolers, insulated flasks and hygiene items up to $3,000 (incl GST) per item, and up to $30,000 (incl GST) total (not in addition to Section 1 limit).
  • Land towing costs
    Provides cover up to $1,500 (incl GST) to tow your boat on land to the nearest repairer, following a covered incident.
  • No Claim Bonus
    You could get up to 25% off your premium with the No Claim Bonus, depending on your claims history.
  • Salvage charges
    Provides cover to recover your boat or move it to safety if the boat is damaged by a covered incident. Limits apply.
  • Geographic limits
    Provides cover for your boat while it’s stored on land or in transit in Australia, and while navigating inland or up to 250 nautical miles from the coast.
  • Race or tournament entry fees
    Provides cover up to $2,000 (incl GST) of non-refundable fishing tournament entry fees, paid by you or your crew, when a covered incident causes you to withdraw.
  • Temporary cover
    Provides temporary cover for a replacement boat for up to 30 days from the purchase date. The replacement boat will be covered up to its purchase price or the original boat’s sum insured, whichever is lesser.
  • Injury and accidental death
    Provides cover for the named insured person for accidental death or for certain categories of significant permanent personal injury up to $75,000 (incl GST) plus $10,000 (incl GST) funeral expenses.
  • 14-day cooling off period
    You can cancel your policy within 14 days from the date of issue (or start date of a renewed policy) and we’ll refund your premium in full, provided you haven’t made a claim or need to make one.

Your policy does not cover any claim caused by, arising from, or any way connected with:

  • Commercial use
    Any activity specifically undertaken for the purposes of earning an income, or any activity registered as a business and which you are obliged by law to register for GST purposes. For example, hire, rideshare or accommodation, unless previously agreed to in writing.

  • Condition or wear and tear
    Wear and tear, the unseaworthiness, and lack of repair or maintenance of the boat.
  • Delamination, deterioration, corrosion and electrolysis
    Delamination, deterioration, corrosion, electrolysis, osmosis and blistering, unless there is evidence of accidental physical impact with a solid object which has caused a deformation in part of the hull from which the condition has propagated.
  • Persons under the influence
    Where you were aware that the boat was under the control of a person under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Reasonable care
    Your recklessness, deliberate actions, misconduct or lack of reasonable care in the safeguard or protection of your boat.

  • Water skiing cover
    You have the flexibility to add water skiers liability to your cover, this includes cover for any person engaged in water skiing, wakeboarding or aquaplaning activities provided they’re using recognised and commercially manufactured equipment and being towed by your boat with your permission.

Market value is the current value of the boat in the market just before the time of loss or damage, taking factors into account including make, model, condition and location.

Agreed value is the amount agreed in writing you and your insurance provider agree to insure your boat for.

A lay up period is when your trailerable boat is not being used and it’s stored in an enclosed garage or shed, or behind walls, gates or fences or another agreed location.

Club Marine offers flexible lay up periods that can help you save up to 5% per month off your premium when your vessel is not in use. During lay up you’re still covered for accidental loss or damage, theft or malicious damage at the storage location. Lay up also covers the boat whilst being moved to / from and whilst at a dealer or service centre for normal servicing and maintenance.
