SIBS is about selling and celebrating the boating lifestyle

As boat show locations go, Sydney’s Cockle Bay must surely rank among the world’s best. Smack in the epicentre of Australia’s largest city, it is here that business mixes with pleasure.

It’s a spectacular scene for a special event, more so this year as the Sydney International Boat Show (SIBS) marks its 55th edition from August 1-4.  In fact, where else can you wander from the boardroom to the boarding platform?

This year, several models that missed their Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show deadline will debut in Sydney, while trends from Europe’s current boating season are also filtering to Australia.

Among them will be Carbon Yachts’ premiere of the Candela C-8 Daycruiser T-Top, believed to be the first electric-powered foiling dayboat of this size to reach our shores.

Newcastle-based Fibre Boats will reveal details of its F5 electric hydrofoil, due for completion in late 2024. Another ‘first’ is the Sipaboard, a self-inflatable SUP with an integrated electric jet motor, Bluetooth and GPS.

ASTenders, meanwhile, will feature the revolutionary 340 Revolve, with its rotating electric engine leg that saves storage space.

Some fresh faces will be using SIBS as a spring board, one of the most notable being Grand Boats Australia which is debuting a series of RIBs ranging from 3.4m yacht tenders to 9.5m adventurers.

Offshore Boat Sales from Canberra is taking its boutique brand ‘Cutting Edge Design by Jason’ from soft launch to the big stage. Four models are available, from a 5.3m side console with hard top to a 7.2m centre console, all plate alloy.

Sydney Marine Brokerage will display Hull No.2 of the new CLB65, an attractive edition to the luxury flybridge segment.

Terrara Motor Yachts is proud to introduce the Terrara 39 to the Australian market. The Terrara 39 is the flagship of the lobster-style motor yacht range.

Trailable boats and products will occupy 19,000m2 of space in Darling Harbour’s ICC Sydney, alongside the popular Discover Sailing and Paddling Hub and entertainment stage.

Dealers set to display include Blakes Marine, Hunts Marine, Insinc Marine, Webbe Marine and more. Sea Fox Boats Australia will showcase the Commander Centre Console line-up, Cobalt Boats has a selection of sterndrive, outboard and Surf models.

Malibu Boats Australia will unveil the new 2025 Response TXi Water-ski Towboat. Visitors can also explore the 2024 Wakesetter 23 LSV and 23 MXZ.

Webbe Marine will have the Stabicraft 2350 Supercab and Stabicraft 2050 Treker, while IRON Boats Australia introduces the IRON 827 Coupe.

Horizon Yachts has two brand new FD builds – an 80 and a 90 – set to be globally premiered at its ‘Open House’ on the marina.

Fleming Yachts will present the classic 55, with a new three-cabin layout, Twin Disc joystick and positioning technology, Humphree stabilisation and twin Cummins 500hp engines.

Flagship International will unveil the Schaefer V44, showcasing a flat, single-level cockpit complemented by two expansive hydraulic balconies. It will also debut the Silver Yachts’ SILVERCAT series.

Also making its first appearance is the innovative PRESTIGE X70 from TMG Yachts, and MW Marine will debut the Jeanneau DB37.

Yacht buyers can see the Saffier 37 daysailer from Carbon Yachts, new Lagoon catamarans, Seawind’s 1170 and Beneteau First 44. Ensign Yachts will present the 2024 European Yacht of the Year, the Bavaria C46.
