Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show Preview

What’s not ideal, during preparations for Australia’s largest boating expo, is to have a tropical cyclone called Alfred dump rain and wind on your parade ground. But the horizon is looking far brighter for the 36th Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, running May 22 to 25, with exhibitor space fully booked.

Last year’s event set the bar high, drawing 43,000 visitors to see 767 boats and 2500+ marine products. The 2025 edition is aiming to beat those impressive numbers.

Taking boat viewing to the next level, high-end buyers will be able to sea trial their luxury vessel of choice. This feature capitalises on the expanded Sanctuary Cove Marina superyacht arm on J Pier.

It’s likely to include prestige brand Palm Beach Motor Yachts as the company is celebrating its 30th anniversary, as well as 30 years of exhibiting at SCIBS. Another standout driving experience will be the Candela C-8, an all-electric hydrofoil dayboat from Carbon Yachts.

The air of luxury will continue at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove resort’s Lagoon Beach Club. A pop-up Veuve Clicquot Sun Club will unveil RICH, a new, easy-to-drink champagne.

Doubtless, there’ll be some bubbles guzzled by happy owners, and splashed on bows too, as Sanctuary Cove is traditionally the launch pad for new-season vessels and products.

Riviera is planning two world premieres, including an all-new 4300 Sports Express that also heralds a new model segment for the Gold Coast builder. The second model is a Series II update of the 72 Sports Motor Yacht.

Another notable debutant is Maritimo’s M50 Flybridge and S50 Sedan. Architectural renders were released last year and the new Flybridge is now ready to roll out.

Beneteau will have Spirit Marine and Flagstaff Marine offering the Antares 9 as an Australasian premiere, along with the Antares 11 and 12, Swift Trawler 41 Sedan and Gran Turismo 41. Among the sail line-up, look for the Oceanis 30.1  and 37.1.

Eyachts will present the entire Axopar line-up, including the 29 Sun Top, Cross Cabin and CCX in an Australian premiere. As an award-winning Greenline dealer, Eyachts will also offer a 39 with hybrid drive, a 40 Sedan and 45 Fly.

Grand Boats RIBs from Ukraine will have its flagship G850 with twin engines, the top-selling G680, D600 sport model and G380 tender.

From Chapparal there’s the outboard-powered 250OSX and 280OSX making their debut. Four Winns will feature an H6, HD3, H1 and HD8, all ready for purchase.

Australian Marine Centre recently took on the Northbank range and will demonstrate 7 models. JSW Powersports, Northside Marine, PowerCat and Telwater, among others, are sure to have strong representation of their trailerboat brands.

Carbon Yachts has the Saffier SE24 Lite, ASTenders 280 and 340 Revolve all on show for the first time.

Another newcomer is the Seawind 1370 sailing cat, which will sit alongside its 1170 sibling on the Multihull Central stand, while the just-launched, Australian-built Cure 55 will be shown for the first time.

TMG Yachts will make a grand statement with the newly launched Lagoon 43, an evolution of the Lagoon 42. Also look for the Lagoon SIXTY 5 and luxurious PRESTIGE M48 multihull motor yacht. Visitors can also have a VR experience of the PRESTIGE M7.

Excess Catamarans will be represented by its new dealer, 38 South, in collaboration with Flagstaff Marine. They’ll be showcasing the EXCESS 14 for the first time here.

The Yacht Sales Co. (TYSC) is anticipating large crowds to its display, which will include the Fountaine Pajot Tanna 47 and Elba 45, and the ILIAD 53F power catamaran, voted 2024 Multihull of the Year. Flying the monohull flag for TYSC will be the new Dufour 44, featuring an innovative layout with an abundance of space and light.

The list of new products and accessories is massive, and the Pavilion and open areas will feature some of the biggest names in the game – AkzoNobel, BLA, Dometic, Furuno, Garmin, Navico, Quality Marine Clothing, Shimano and Stella Marine.

Corey Rattray-Wood, Head of Events at Mulpha Events, says the demand for exhibitor space underscores the show’s influence: “SCIBS is where the marine industry does business. Every year, our exhibitors secure incredible sales results, and 2025 will be no exception.”
