Sea-Doos saving lives

While IRBs - inflatable rescue boats - are Surf Lifesaving Australia’s (SLSA) staple powercraft for beach rescues, Sea-Doo PWCs are proving invaluable when it comes to patrolling beyond the flags, being faster, safer and requiring just one operator.

“They’re fantastic in terms of efficiency and versatility,” veteran lifesaver and trainer Nixy Krite says. “We rely on them to be rescue-ready in in all kinds of challenging conditions, and the agile handling allows us to get up close to rock ledges and other obstacles.”

SLSA covers more than 12,000 beaches and performs over 10,000 rescues every year, a significant number of those credited to the Sea-Doo fleet provided to clubs, branches, and state and territory bodies via a long-standing partnership with BRP.

“BRP continues to be a major contributor to coastal safety around the country,” adds SLSA CEO Adam Weir. “Surf Life Saving exists to save lives, create great Australians, and build better communities. The support of BRP helps us to achieve our mission.”
