The arrival of cooler, calmer autumn weather in Australia is often the cue for recreational cruising activity to heat up, with southern boaties migrating toward Queensland while northerners explore more temperate shores.

Certainly, the coastal corridor separating Port Phillip Bay and the Whitsundays is a formidable distance – some 2400km – but sailing and motoryacht voyagers can be reassured that the d’Albora Marinas team is with them all the way.

Australia’s largest marina and hospitality network offers 17 locations in Victoria, NSW and Queensland, allowing cruisers to take a break, refuel, recharge, relax and enjoy friendly, efficient dockside support.

Booking a casual berth can be done online, on the move, with d’Albora’s digital platform. The d’Albora app, meanwhile, gives live fuel pricing, booking options and more.

From Pier 35 and Victoria Harbour Marina in Melbourne’s heartland, it’s a short hop to Boatyard Martha Cove, then onwards to Batemans Bay Marina on the NSW South Coast. Stay, play and explore the surrounds.

A Sydney Harbour sojourn offers three superb marinas at  Rushcutters Bay, The Spit and Cabarita Point respectively. These are convenient for Harbour events such as VIVID and NYE fireworks, or to city restaurants and attractions.

Akuna Bay services the verdant Hawkesbury/Pittwater region, before Port Stephens unfolds with Nelson Bay, The Anchorage and Soldiers Point. It’s a renowned marine park with fish-laden waters and idyllic offshore islands. Picturesque Port Macquarie is another day’s run up the mid-north coast.

South-East Queensland then marks the gateway to warmer cruising grounds, with  Pacific Point Marina at Jacobs Well (Gold Coast) and Manly Harbour’s  East Coast Marina (Brisbane).

Nearby to Tin Can Bay Marina, the Great Sandy Strait and K’gari (Fraser Island) are both magnificent for fishing and sailing year round, but particularly in April/May. Finally, Port of Airlie opens the door to the magical Whitsundays.

While there, why not treat yourself to exceptional dining, shopping and tourism experiences among d’Albora Marina’s 250+ tenants?

You might even leave your boat behind as a floating holiday home, flying back and forth whenever the mood strikes – d’Albora has over 4500 berthing and boat storage options across its network.

Different views every day. Different experiences every night. A carefree Mediterranean cruising lifestyle aboard your vessel. All facilitated by Australia’s premier marina network. All without leaving home waters.

The d’Albora Marinas’ Member & Guest Services Team is available 7 days a week, 8:30am – 5pm. Tel: 1800 32 52 672 or visit dalbora.com.au

In March 2026, d’Albora Marinas announced it had contracted to add another jewel to its crown by acquiring the highly acclaimed Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard at Coomera – one of the largest repair, refit and servicing hubs in the Southern Hemisphere.

The site accommodates 100 vessels in wet berths and more than 280 in dry storage. It is underpinned by four superyacht sheds as part of 30,000m2 of marine industrial infrastructure and 35,000m2 of hardstand space.

Strategically located within the key East Coast boating corridor, it will greatly enhance d’Albora’s network connectivity and capabilities for visiting boaties seeking maintenance work.
